  8. TOPIC ----------------------------------------------------------
  9.
  10. Is there a correlation between a monitor's DPI resolution and ELF
  11. emissions?
  12.
  13. DISCUSSION -------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. The refresh rate (the number of times a video image is refreshed on the
  16. screen) determines the frequency at which ELF is emitted, but the refresh
  17. rate does not increase the amplitude or levels of ELF emitted from the
  18. monitor.  Crisp color graphics require a wider video bandwidth than
  19. text-based systems, so there is the possibility of increased VLF and high
  20. frequency emissions, but the ELF spectrum remains unchanged.
  21.
  22. Apple's products are constantly tested and compared against existing and
  23. proposed international standards.  We continuously follow scientific
  24. developments in the field of computer health and safety.  Members of
  25. Apple's Environmental Health and Safety group as well as representatives
  26. within Product Development, Product Marketing, and Engineering Services
  27. keep track of new findings.
